Gotten Wii! & Ice Age 3
Around two weeks ago, I ordered a Wii along with a Taiko Compatible Drum and it arrived on the 2nd July 2009 (Thursday). I have already switch my phone to a non-camera black and white phone and I'm lazy to switch back to my camera phone to take photos of it, but it was really great. Except my TV suddenly went haywire and need to keep slamming it to get it to work properly, which pissed me off when I'm enjoying my Wii.
Also, I wish good luck to Vick for enlisting at Tekong last Thursday. All the best!!! Taiko extreme training awaits after you come out~!
Yesterday afternoon, RJ and I went to catch Ice Age 3 at AMK Hub in 3D. Some parts are lame while most of it was pretty entertaining and funny. A typical comedy show about how the main characters (mammoth, saber tooth tiger etc) discovered that beneath the ice they have been living on, lies a gigantic forest where dinosaurs lived. The 3D effects was great but the need to wear an extra pair of spectacles to view the 3D effects make my eyes somewhat uncomfortable.
This blog is not dead yet. Just not being updated frequently.
Enlistment Week 1 Summary
First week of enlistment has passed so quickly. I shall write down some highlights.
On 22th June - MondayI reported to CMPB while bringing my parents along to witness the ceremony. Unlike the time I went there for checkup, I took a different route by riding to Redhill then taking another bus, which made us end up at the backdoor. We didn't alight at the stop and when I asked the bus driver where's CMPB, he say, "isn't this that CMPB?", he then let us alight since the bus didn't move far from the stop.
After we entered CPMB, we waited a short while before an announcement was made for enlistees and family members to move to a small "lecture room" like place. All enlistees including myself queued to get our IC "confiscated" and replaced with the SAF pass.
After the ceremony, all enlistees left the room and proceed to yet another "lecture hall" where we were handed a big heavy bag with plenty of stuff including:
- 3 set of uniform blouse and trunks
- 3 sets of sports shirt and pants
- 1 pair of sports shoe
- 1 set of leather shoes
- 1 belt
- 1 name tag
- 1 beret... etc etc...
The entire bag is so so so heavy... that I have quite a hard time carrying it. Imagine going to the supermarket and buy around 10 bottle of 1.5 litres of drinks and carrying 5 bottles in each hand. That's the sensation I'm getting here...
We then carry the back inside the big "lecture hall" where we were briefed about the insurance and to check if everything is present and if they clothings are of correct wearable size.
After that, we waited for people from our unit to fetch us. I waited for a while before three seniors from my unit came to fetch me. If my memory serve me right, they three were Ren Qiang, Andrew and Derek. We took a mini bus to a camp in Chua Chu Kang. There, I met the rest of my unit. Everyone from the unit including the engineers are really very nice and wonderful people.
I was also told they scouted information about me and know about my facebook profile and blog. Now I realise who the mysterious person who tag on my tagboard using the name "Scme" is... It was my unit...
However, at that evening, I really have quite a hard time trying to carry the entire pack of stuff back home by taking buses and MRT...
On 23th June - TuesdayWore my uniform for the first time early in the morning, all I can say is, I got the really awkward feeling when wearing uniform in public. I got the sensation that I must watch my own behavior so as not to show a bad image. I don't even feel like sitting down in the train that morning, but that sensation was gone on Wednesday...
On 24th June - WednesdayTwo seniors celebrated their birthday. We had cake and took some photographs.
On 25th June - ThursdayThe two birthday boys treated the unit Canadian pizza during lunch time.
On 26th June - FridayThis day was pretty cursed. Early in the morning, I thought I had lost my wallet since I couldn't find it. After a while, I went out to the Yishun Police Station (short distance from Northpoint) with a temporary wallet while messaging Chee Suan about it. However, my mum phone me to inform me she found my wallet dropped behind my big printer on my table when I was in the middle of reporting the lost wallet. Mum then travel down to North Point to give me my wallet back before I rush off to take taxi to camp. I arrived 5 mins before I was late... Dang it, the whole morning trouble was due to my own blur-ness. Learnt my lesson to place my wallet in a more appropriate place from now on... Z_Z
OverallWeek 1 feel pretty slack as I'm hardly doing anything as the unit Madam won't be back till next week. The only stuff I did this week is when the unit was called to help the engineers. Everyone in the camp is really nice and friendly, although I am pretty guilty that there are quite a few I still could not remember their names despite recognising their faces... Really sorry about that...
Movie - Blood: The Last Vampire
http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/bloodthelastvampire/RJ just booked out for the first time from his NS, so he and I went to watch this movie, adapted from an anime. Vick did not join us due to his work. My turn for NS this coming friday except no Tekong for me...
The movie content is filled with animated blood and strong violence. Those who want to view it may need to get themselves mentally prepared.
NYP's SIT Graduation 2009
The NYP's SIT Graduation 2009 is finally here.
Facebook Album HereToday at around 12.30pm my mum my fourth auntie and I took a taxi to NYP (mum's idea) and we arrived around 12:45pm. Took them to look around at Block L and how the place we all nicknamed "fish tank" looks like.
After that we went back to the atrium to meet up with Victor and we saw Swapna and her parents. Took some photos and Renjun arrive shortly to join in...
Victor ran into some trouble which almost made him not allowed on stage. He was wearing sports shoes rather than formal boots. Luckily, all went well later on...
The ceremony began with the two guests-of-honor making their speech (I only remember the second guest-of-honor reference life with golf), followed by the presentation of the diploma folder (without the cert). It goes in the order of Diploma of IT(Vick here), DIT with merit(me and RJ here), Diploma of Business Informatics (Thong Wah and Yonghan here) and DBI with merit. After that, the student singers and dancers presented their song before a student representative give a closing speech.
We collected our actual cert from LTS-1 and did photo taking again before we returned the rented robe and got our deposit back. Had dinner at Koufu after that and a big LOL to us... All three families went to order food from the same Japanese stall.
Having the Diploma with Merit, I also recieved my National Education Attendence cert and the cert for admitting into the Director List. Too bad they need to be left aside for now as they cannot be used till my NS is over...
Cactus Flower Encountered
Yesterday when visiting my aunties, we came across this interestingly uncommon sight. Her neighbour's tall cactus have flowers! When we were above to head home later on, we notice that the flower blooms.

Angel & Demons Movie
Like last Friday, I gotten a called from my second uncle to assist him in his workshop yesterday (Thursday), which is located very close to where I live. Happened that RJ and Vick wanted to watch movie on the very same day so I have to ask them to set the movie timing to evening hours.
After my uncle give me the green light to knock off, I hear a loud *RHOOOOOM* sounds... Yes, it was about to rain, and quite heavy too on my way home to cool down and to clean up. The rain stops when I was back at home and restarted when I exit my house to North Point to meet RJ and Vick, talk about very bad timing.
Headed to the Japanese themed Food Court in North Point 2 for dinner. When that place just opened for business, I did not realise it was a food court as it looks alot like a restaurant on the outside, a big restaurant look, until my mum and I went in there to check it out a few weeks back ago.
The place sell varieties of Japanese food like Sushi, Omelete Rice, Ramen, Donburi, Curry Rice, Rice Burgers, Pizza/Pasta and Bento (they sell Bento as if it was Mixed Veggie Rice). So far, I tried the Sushi, Omelete Rice, Donburi and Curry Rice.
Yesterday after arriving, RJ was busy playing his PSP so Vick and I went to order first. I went for Unagi Pizza while he went for Salmon Pizza and later on, we shared half of our pizza with each other. RJ went for Bento later on...
I shall do something I haven't done in a while, which I always do in Beijing last time... FOOD PHOTO TIME~!
Unagi Pizza, with one slice already eaten. For the movies, I at first thought they planned to watch Night at the Museum 2, turned out RJ and Vick bought the tickets for Angels & Demon instead. Check this out, when Vick was telling me the price and the movie timeslot, I was stunted by how he say it (in Mandarin). The movie ticket is Ba Kuai Ban (8 Dollars and Half), and the time is Ba Dian Ban (8 o'clock and Half). See the direct translation? I couldn't help but notice the strange double "Eight and a half" occurrences.
Asia PosterI never went to find out what the movie is about, since I thought we would be watching Night at the Museum 2. The asia version of poster make me thought it would be a show about a world of supernatural creatures or something similar. I did not expect it to be a movie about a mystery solving with all the mystery related to Christianity background. I'm a free-thinker (no religon) so I hardly understand all the places, churches , origins and etc.
I personally rate the movie 6 out of 10, the suspense and the mystery are nice but non-christians may not know the backgrounds, but the actions were abit bad, considering alot of people died so easily in the hands of the bad guys. Overall, it is just another movie showing the corruption of people, this time, with a religion involved.
New skin published!
Its about time I get rid of that old blog skin which lags. I decide to make a new one. The only thing I did not make is the buttons, which are recycled temporary. At least the blog will get a whole new feel.
Hopefully I'll have more things to write soon since this blog need some serious un-dusting and un-rusting~!
